These are more pictures from the other areas of Bali that we visited including -

*  The spectacular water palace at Tirtagganga,

*  Pacung, the vegetable garden village in the central highlands of Bali

*  and Bedugul, the market village  near the sacred temple in Lake Beratan. (Or 'Bratan' as the locals say it.)

*  and the flight home.

Ponds, gardens and meru at the Tirtagganga Water Palace.

Tirtagganga translates literally as 'water of the Holy Ganges', a clear link to the early links with India from which the basis of the unique Balinese version of Hinduism is derived.

TAKE CARE ! - The stepping stones in some of the pools are very slippery.

More fountains, ponds and some ancient trees at Tirtagganga.

Bathing pool at Tirtagganga, easily viewed from the King's quarters up the hill.

A cocoa tree in the forest just off the edge of the road between Candi Dasa and Bedugul.

In about 100 paces along the road there were over a dozen different varieties of trees bearing edible fruits.

A striking crimson flower by the roadside at Pacung on the mountainous slopes of Mount Mangu.

A little further up the road, right by the Police Station, is this bright yellow variety, about twice life size in this picture.

The view of rice and vegetable terraces from our toilet window at the Pacung Indah Hotel.

A few degrees to the left is a long valley that runs down in the direction of Kuta/Sanur. It is a special sight to see the night clouds roll up this valley and eventually envelop you in their mists.

Brilliantly coloured vegetables at the Bedugul market.

Flowers at the Bedugul Market.

And in season I defy you to resist the fresh strawberies.

The park on the edge of Lake Bratan by the Ashram Guest House and Restaurant.

The mosque at Lake Bratan, not far from the Hindu Temple.

Having heard the loud speakers during a special ceremony here I am sure this is where our young neighbour bought the sound system for his car.

That magnificent wing in the dawn light of central Australia.

Early morning light somewhere south of Alice Springs and north of Port Augusta.

It's at about this time that you realise the holiday is over and you begin to look forward to home, family and friends.
